While returning home on his cart, the baker Chester Baker has a serious accident during a storm. He is gravely injured and, unfortunately, despite the quick response of the emergency services, he passes away. As Chester takes his last breaths, his wife Ethel Baker promises him to teach their three sons everything she knows about the secret of bread. However, Ethel’s determination is challenged by their eldest son William, who is passionate about theater and eager to become an actor.
